It has been reported that a few members have refused to show their membership cards upon entering the Post, and also at the bar when ordering drinks. It is virtually impossible for our volunteers to know all the members by sight. It is a state law and a Club Committee rule that a member must show his or her card when asked. We must follow this rule to protect our liquor license. You are most welcome at your Post and we are happy that you come in, and happy to serve you. Please understand our position. Please do not be abusive to those trying to serve you, as they must comply to the state law and the rules of the Club Committee. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you. We hope that all our members will come and support our functions and events.

Each year three exceptional teachers are recognized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for their outstanding commitment to teach Americanism and patriotism to their students. The  VFW annually recognizes the nation’s top classroom elementary, junior high and high school teachers who teach citizenship education topics.  If you know a teacher who plans field trips to city hall, organizes community volunteer projects or invites local veterans to speak in class, anything to help students develop a better understanding of democratic values and beliefs, this award is for them.  If you know of such a person or need more info please contact VFW Post 7968 at 480-671-6239 or one the Chairman.
