COMMANDER’S CORNER Well summer is upon us and we’re starting our great three digits season again. Our new post has totally prepared for this.! We have two cool things happening – 1). We have our patios up and running with fans and the mist system to keep you cool while you’re enjoying the view and a refreshing toddy. Thanks to our Men’s Auxiliary. 2). As always, we have our canteen fully operational with summer drinks and meal specials. So, to beat the heat and appreciate the company, just come in for a visit. There’s always something happening. I’m not sure if everyone knows or remembers – the VFW National system is on a fiscal year starting July 1st of every year. So, even though it’s only the middle of the year to us – it’s a brand new year to them and therefore us. But before I can start talking about a new year. I have to give a gigantic “you did outstanding award” to our Ladies Auxiliary. At the state convention, I believe because of their leadership and hard work they took almost every first prize there was in about every category. Lady President Theresa and your Auxiliary CONGRATULATIONS on a very incredible year and hope you can repeat it again this year. With the new year starting – it leaves us with everything to start over. We’ll be working on membership 2011 (due notices will be mailed out by national), our VFW Programs, and fundraising. We have already set up some program committees and appointed chairpersons. They’ll need your help – pick a committee! We’ll be very proud to have you on a team. It’s all done by team work.!! We had a great year last year thanks to all of you but myself and your other officers are looking for a greater year this year. We signed up over 100 new members – which is a larger number then some posts in Arizona – we donated to many community activities and assisted veterans and their families at a record breaking pace and again this is because of every members’ hard work and dedication. Our Post is a fantastic, friendly Post because of our members and what and who they are..!! If there’s something that needs to be done – they get r done and for this we, as Officers, THANK YOU and always appreciate everything you do for our Post. I believe this year is going to be one terrific, outstanding and fun year. Working with all of you for another year is my honor and pleasure. Thank you for the chance. See you at the Post events.Always if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to call or talk to me at the post. Thanks you for all you do. Mike Commander PS – If you have any spare time we really could use volunteers at the post – it getting a little slim pickin’s during these summer months. Let myself, Theresa, Tom know Thanks |

Dear Sisters WOW, what a way to end the year at the State Convention. A big THANK YOU goes to all the Chairpersons that did such a great and remarkable job on their program this last year. Many thanks to all of you. We are now the largest Auxiliary in the state of Arizona with a membership of 602 and we are still getting a lot of new members. Many thanks go to the volunteers who work in the kitchen, cut & sort coupons, and do all the little things that need to be done to keep everything going. A special thanks to those, whom we do not know, that cut & sort coupons in their homes. Please let us know who you are. Come join us cut coupons on every other Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Post. First day inJuly is the 14th. If you would like to help at the Ice Cream Social or the Voters Registration, please let me know. We need all the help we can get as this is going to be a very busy year. God Bless Theresa Grupe, Ladies Auxiliary President |

Hello Members, I would like to thank the volunteers and Men's Auxiliary members for their help and support. The Men's Auxiliary needs more members to participate in events and weekly functions, if you could donate your time just one, one day a month this Auxiliary would be a great success. As members you should be informed about activity's, so get involved and attend meetings. Sincerely, Brian Clark, President |
